Over the last 4 years, Tignes has become one of the leading Bike Park providers. With its 90 kms of trails, both beginners and experts can experience the pleasures of mountain biking on one of the best mountain biking area.

ØAnd new for 2008, the “Thrilling” area where the mythical red piste of “Double M”, which allows you to ski down from the Grande Motte glacier to Tignes Val Claret in the heart of the resort during winter, is now open in the summer… to bikers. Let’s start there in the snow! To get on the top, you just get on the funicular with the skiers and pedestrians.

Tignes, THE altitude training resort!
Once again this summer, the resort of Tignes will welcome some of the best sports champions for their training in high altitude:
Ø2 - 12 July: The Olympique Lyonnais returns to Tignes
Ø27 - 2 August: The MHRC spends some quality time in the resort
Ø2-12 August: The Stade Français comes to Tignes to fill up with energy
Ø29 September – 3 October : The French Rugby at 13 team trains in Tignes
Did you know? In Tignes, athletes benefit from the positive effects of altitude training, ideal for increasing their red blood cell count. Because the air pressure is lower at altitude its density falls, thereby reducing the amount of oxygen in the respiratory system. After a few days the body adapts to this by making more red blood cells so that the blood becomes more efficient in transporting oxygen. This increases endurance once the athletes return to their usual altitude.
Follow in the footsteps of the French soccer team!
From 6 July to 14 August 2008, boys aged 9 to 16 can come and follow in the footsteps of the Frech team and take part in a football camp at altitude. Training sessions and tournaments will take place in the same stadium that the French team used in May 2008 for their training for the Euro 2008, at the foot of the Grande Motte glacier.
On the agenda: Soccer of course, but also lectures on doping, tactical positioning on the pitch or healthy eating, ski or snowboard lessons, stretching, games and films.
From € 420/teen for the soccer camp or from € 525/teen for the combined skiing/soccer camp. Price includes 5 night’s full-board accommodation based on 2 people in a 2-star hotel.
