Summer skiing is for those who get up early! Only 7 minutes away from Tignes Val Claret. If you love summer skiing, the Grande Motte glacier, between 3 000 m and 3 656 m altitude is the place to be : 20 kms of pistes with 750 m of vertical drop, 12 ski lifts, 1 snowpark, 1 boardercross and 1 mini slalom.
Ride with the pros Summer in Tignes is also the time to get familiar with “the crème de la crème” of the freestyle champions on the snowpark of the glacier.
Have you already tested Tignes’ biking area? Opened since July 29th june, the Bike Park is ready to welcome bikers. In total, 90 km of slopes dedicated to beginners and experts: 20 km of downhill runs and 70 km endurance trails. New for this summer 2008, a 3rd side of slopes, The Grande motte area, “endurance” oriented, completed by the Tovière area, “freeride” oriented & the Palafour area “ride open to everyone” oriented .
This new endurance trail allows you to ride down the legendary red run « double M » which in winter allows you to ski down from the Grande Motte glacier to Tignes Val Claret.

Spotlight on the latest job on two wheels: Bike patrolling – it rocks! Their mission: to greet, advise, give directions, mark, patrol and maintain the trails and be your host. Like the winter ski patrollers working on the ski runs, the bike patrol swap their skis for a mountain bike and ride and patrol the mountain bike trails.
Save the date Freeride Tour VTT: 23rd-24th August
Tignes is hosting the 3rd stage of the 2008 Tour. On the agenda: freeride downhill mountain biking – put your head down and pedal for all you’re worth! Both amateurs and pros will compete in a friendly and sporting area.
Dress code: bikinis and Sarong! Welcome to the highest beach in Europe! During the summer, the banks of Tignes’ Lake resemble la “Croisette” in Cannes. You can enjoy going for a gentle stroll or something a little more energetic as Tignes gets into summer activity mode. On the agenda: a stroll around the lake, beach soccer or beach volley ball, catamaran sailing, canoeing or kayaking, fishing or freestyle acrobatics in the skate park.
Lots of laughs and adrenaline rushes are guaranteed at the Water Jump! On skis, snowboards, mountain bikes, roller blades or on a skateboard, the “water-jumpers” launch themselves off a 35m-long ski jump which ends up in lake Tignes. An impressive freestyle training tool, the water jump provides pro-freestylers with a place to fine tune their tricks for the following winter season. Shivers are guaranteed even before you land in the cool waters of the lake.
Overlooking by the Grande Motte glacier and reaching down towards the pure waters of the lake, Tignes’ golf course is the highest in Europe and offers incredible panoramic views! With 18 holes that meander around the slopes of the mountain on 5kms of greens and natural obstacles designed by the architect Philippe Valant, the Tignes Golf Course remains accessible to everyone.

A ski pro and a golf pro, accompanied by 2 amateurs, compet in Tignes’ two flagship summer sports: skiing and golf. An original and subtle cocktail combining physical condition, concentration and accuracy.

The Tignes’ aqua centre, « le Lagon » is located right in the heart of the resort with unrestricted view of the lake. The lagon is made of a 25-m swimming pool, a recreational pool, a fitness & weight room and a wellness centre….
