Tour de France 2007 - Stage in Tignes
For the 1st time in his history, Tignes will host one stage of the Tour de France. This mountain stage, leaving from the Grand Bornand on July 15th 2007, will arrive in Tignes Val Claret end of afternoon. In bonus, the caravan Tour will have a day of rest in Tignes on July 16th. This stage is already said as one of the hardest, so to prepare themselves, a lot of teams have already come to Tignes to preview the road: Lance Armstrong ex team Discovery Channel, Stuart O’Grady et Jens Voigt’s team CSC Tiscali, and the French team AG2R with its icon leader Christophe Moreau.
Tignes opens for the 3rd consecutive year his famous Bike Park, drawn by Karim Amour himself. In total, 85 km of slopes dedicated to beginners and experts: 20 km of downhill runs and 65 km endurance trails. New this summer, a 2nd side of slopes, the Palafour area, « ride » oriented, completed by the Tovière area, « freeride » oriented. To celebrate this 2007 Bike Park version, Tignes organises his 1st Tignes Caméride from July 7th to 8th 2007. Dedicated to Mountain Bike aficionados, the Tignes Caméride is a video or photo competition opened to everyone. From July 27th to 29th 2007, the Cantona brothers, Kings of the beach, will set Tignes on fire for the 10th European Beach Soccer League 2007. 8 European teams will play during 3 days of competition in a hot atmosphere. Book your package now!
The Beach Soccer takes advantage of the explosion of beach sports, like Beach Volley and Beach Rugby. On August 4th and 5th 2007, Tignes organises a Beach Rugby tournament. And on August 11th and 12th 2007, France’s best volleyball players will come to battle in Tignes, since the resort is hosting, for the 1st time, a stage of the French Beach volleyball championship.
Tignes, football planet - Preparation stage of the Olympique Lyonnais
For the 10th consecutive year, the French Champion Football Team will come again for a summer camp in Tignes. The programme is to prepare the champions in the best conditions for the 2007 – 2008 L1 season (1st French football league). From July 2nd to 10th 2007, a week of intimacy and closeness will allow the new coach, Alain Perrin, to muster his new football players. Since it welcomed the French football players in 1997 for their preparation of the World football Cup, Tignes is known as THE mountain resort for top level athletes and teams.
Football summer camp Bosquier - On the professional players' tracks!
For the 1st time, Tignes will welcome football summer camps for boys from 9 to 16 years old. From July 8th to August 17th 2007, the B. Bosquier summer camps will be based in the most football-oriented resort, Tignes! A 100% soccer week or a 50/50 % week with football and ski or surf: You choose! Trainings and tournaments will take place on the same stadium used by the French football team on May 2006, at the bottom of the glacier of the Grande Motte. Just like the big guys!
