The Société des Téléphériques de la Grande Motte
The Société des Téléphériques de la Grande Motte has been welcoming international ski enthusiasts for more than 30 years, managing Tignes' ski lift network since 1967. The company employs 280 permanent and seasonal staff members and achieves a turnover of 35 million Euros (01/02 season) for 18 million rides on its various ski lifts and 1,65 million days skiing sold. It is the second largest ski lift company in the world. The STGM has belonged to the Compagnie des Alpes group.

Ski lift staff:Our employees are out and about in all weather conditions, their professionalism a guarantee of quality service: our staff is at your disposal to answer any questions you may have, and to listen to your suggestions. 280 ski lift employees (seasonal and permanent) provide a warm welcome and ensure safe transport throughout our ski area.
The ski lift company is assisted in its work by the Ski Patrol Service. The ski patrolmen of the Service des Pistes patrol the ski area constantly, ready to intervene at all times, and the team of snow groomer drivers and snow culture specialists strive to provide you with the best possible skiing conditions.

The snow planThe new snow plan, set up in 1996 by the municipality's ski patrol service and the STGM has succeeded in improving the flow of skiers throughout the ski area whilst simultabeously reinforcing safety measures for skiers and boarders and allowing for better envoronmental management.
With 113 snow canons, producing 450 000 cubic metres of artificial snow, the entire ski area of Tignes, particularly the lower areas, has the benefit of quality snow cover from the beginning to the end of the season.
